Villa Giovanna - Sorrento

1. Excellent service, especially the hotel manager Laura provided more help than we could have excpected :-). 2. Breakfast exceeded also our expectations; there were many different choises and fitted well to our scandinavian taste. Fresh fruits were a huge plus. 3. The small pool with marvellous view.

The hotel is located pretty far from the city center. This we could not really see from the hotel description. This would had been ok, if temperature had not been too high (over + 30 Celsius). We should have had own car but this time we were dependant on the buses and taxis.

There is no shuttle to the centre of sorrento. If you're going to their restaurant in the centre then they have a car to drive you otherwise you have to walk or take a taxi. With luggage, no choice, you have to take a taxi.

Villa Giovanna is flawless. Nice people, nice location (though a little bit far from the Sorrento center), very large and clean room. The courtyard is full of greenery and spotted by nice little places to rest. Free wi-fi, which was excellent.

Poor selection of food for breakfast at the Johanna hotel, which is on the same property. In spite of that, the breakfast is ok.

This hotel was a good value for what it offered. It has a beautiful view of the coast, the staff were very friendly and helpful. It is not advertised as a 4 star & that level should not be expected, but it was very nice for a family of 5 situated in 2 rooms. It is located west of the town center & you have to depend on the City bus to get there. It is a nice walk down hill, but you don't want to have to climb it to get back up.

We found Villa Giovanna to be quiet, friendly and clean,The breakfast each morning was great esp. the freshly made scrambled eggs.We would recommend it to those looking for a clean well priced hotel.

We had difficulty finding Villa Giovanna.A very visible sign will help, but we stumbled into Hotel Joanna to ask directions and found Villa Giovanna was in their grounds.It was great news after a very long drive down from Umbria by 4 middle aged Aussies.

Nice b&b up in the hills overlooking Sorrento. Staff was very friendly. There is a small bar by the pool. The pool is very small, and is more for sitting in, but has a very nice view over the bay. The room was very large, as was the bathroom.

Very difficult to find. Suggest adding Hotel is across from Hotel President. The road to this hotel is a uphill swtich back and you need a small car.

Lovely place with history and character. Very nice helpful staff. Stunning views and nice pool, Quiet relaxing location. Good breakfast. Very easy going and flexible, Staying late on my last day because I had a late flight was no problem to them.

The one and only thing is finding it ! Which I noticed is posted on trip advisor too last year ! They realy need a sign or two at each entrance and on or near the building itself when you get to it. There is absoloutely nothing ! No signage whatsoever so you have no idea when you are near or even at the place !!! And the directions should mention turning in off the road at The Joanna Park Hotel which is signed up and the Giovanna is obviously connected with and turning right down a track just in front of. That would make all the difference and would make guests much happier and less likely to complain so everyones life is easier including the staff !!!!!!!!!

I liked staying at Villa Giovanna - the people working there were friendly and understanding, the rooms were simple and welcoming and there is a sweet little swimming pool area with a great view of the sea in the distance.

It could be a bit noisy - the walls were a bit thin.

Quiet location with fantastic view! Breakfast with big selection (including fruits, pastries, müsli, coffee, cappucino, tee, etc.). Reception 24h open. 30 Minutes walk down to Sorrento on a narrow, steep and beautiful road with only low/moderate scooter traffic. Public busses go every 30 Minutes or 60 Minutes from a bus stop just outside Villa Giovanna. Private busses from other hotels (Hotel President or Hotel Amnita) can sometimes be used by asking kindly. The bus ride down in the city takes 10-15 Minutes. Buy bus tickets in advance because it is sometimes not possible to buy tickets on the bus. I think the correct price per bus ticket is 2,4€.

There is no sign or indication on the road Via Nastro Verde at the entrance to Villa Giovanna. It has obviously been like that for a long time as can be read from the other entries. This should be fixed urgently!! Enter where it says "Hotel Johanna Park" (this is another hotel). On the other side of the road is the entrance to "Hotel President".

The staff were lovely, very helpfull and the location was scenic and very tranquill. It was so nice to stay somewhere which was peacefull whilst having all the facilities
